Canadian grocery, Loblaw orders 25 Tesla electric Semi trucks

Tesla Semi will be great. Canadian grocery giant Loblaw will purchase 25 of the all-electric transport trucks with a $5,000 deposit for each upfront even though pricing is TBD for the vehicle, which is supposed to start shipping in 2019.

Loblaw wants to run a full electric vehicle fleet to support its stores, as part of a goal of reducing its emissions impact by 2030. Loblaw wants to have as many as 350 zero-emission vehicles in operation by 2030, and stopping the use of petrol and diesel cars and trucks could help it reduce its carbon emission.

Tesla said its cost of operation for the Semi will help shippers save money on a per mile basis.

The fact that Loblaw has ordered for these trucks and are seriously supporting this dream will go a long way in energizing Telsa to bring their dream world into reality. This will also affect the cost of oil seriously as countries depending on oil will experience a gross reduction in revenue generation.
